Natural phenomena are an abiding interest in my art work.  I see in a blank canvas an opportunity to monumentalize small objects from my natural environment.  
I take a “myopic” approach, observing their intimate details close at hand.
I will exaggerate a bit because I want to celebrate those details… to draw attention to a superior design aesthetic found in nature.

Occasionally, I refocus my vision to take in the ephemeral moods that the changing seasons and weather exert on the places important to me.  I think of these smaller landscapes as my "journals in oil"

My paintings affirm an appreciation of the natural order that surrounds us.  It inspires me to depict its beauty as an act of awe and gratitude.
